SMALL SCALE PROJECTS

Tefloturn is perfectly capable of producing just a few items for a client from a set of drawings, as well as larger manufacturing runs. We are a small company and are therefore flexible enough to be able to encompass very small-scale work - and we take the same amount of trouble over all our clients' projects, whether large or small.

CASE STUDY 1
We were approached with a project by a one-man design company. The owner was a scientist who had been contracted to produce experimental work for the road construction industry's European Validation Board.

The brief was to produce PTFE bottles and screws for use in specialist centrifuge testing of construction materials. We were able to work with the client from the initial inception stage through to the prototype stage and then on to a production run of samples. The finished product has subsequently been adopted and sold for use in many markets including the USA.

CASE STUDY 2
Tefloturn was chosen by a specialist fibre optics company to assist in the development of a range of optical terminating devices in PTFE and brass. These were to be used in the testing of fibre optic cables and needed to be made to fine tolerances.

We took the project from a series of CAD drawings created by our client and produced a series of 12 prototype variations. Since then, the client has successfully developed the devices into a full production run, now created in PEEK and stainless steel and commonly used throughout the industry.
